Creating Reports
Introduction
Let us show you how to create your own report on this example.
First of all he report is generally understood as gathering structured data fore some request. So in InnPlanner the report creation can be relatively divided into three steps:
1. Creating query which will gather records for the report;
2. Setting up the representation view of the selected items (which columns to show, sorting order, etc.);
3. Report Style creation for printing the results.
Here we will illustrate the most difficult step of creating a query. Use the following links to get information on other topics:
Creating Query
For instance, let's create a query to get a list of guests who have stayed on for more than 2 days.
- To create a new query open the Query Editor from the Queries->Add/Modify/Delete Queries... menu:
- Click on the New Query button to create a query. A window will pop up, asking you to choose a record type for the query. As we need to get a list of reservations, choose the appropriate item from the list:
- In the next window enter the query name, for example ">2 Days Reservations".
- In the main window for Select From field, indicate Reservations folder.
- Click on the Add Rule button
- A rule wizard will be opened. Create the following rule:
Days field - more than (>) 2.
- Click Ok. The created rule will show up in the rule list. You may create any additional rules in the same way.
- You may check this new report immediately by clicking on the Test Query button. If everything is correct, you will see all the reservations lasting more than 2 days in the left-hand bottom corner.
- To change the appearance of data representation, use another tab of the query editor - Appearance.
See a detailed description of the Query Editor.
