Hotel Software Documentation
Creating New Database
All information on your hotel is kept in a database, represented by one solid file.
To start working with the software, you need to create a database for your hotel. You can do it from the File->New... menu or by clicking on the Create New Database... button on the welcoming splash-screen.
A new database wizard will pop up:
- At the first step enter the hotel name, phone and address. You can also add a graphic file with a company logo if any. The logo will be used in printing reports.
- During the second step you set up the currency format, the tariff per person per night, and the tax rate. If there are different tariffs used for different rooms, indicate the most common one to be used as a default tariff. Other tariffs can be set later at Configuration chapter.
- The third step is to set up rooms of your hotel. All the rooms are grouped into types. The type is determined by the number of Double (D) and Single (S) beds in the room and applied tariff.
- The last step is to set up a path to your database file. Remember this path. We highly recommend performing periodic backups of this file.
When all the necessary information is filled in, click on the Finish button. A new customized database will be created for you.
